Best Heavy Duty Trampoline reviews

Those magic toddler days don’t last long…the fear and anticipation as they take their first steps onto what seems like their greatest challenge yet…a mini trampoline! Trepidation from toddler and Mum as they grab hold of the stability bar and take their first few uncertain jumps. And then what seems like 5 minutes pass and they’ve grown by a foot and a half and your Little Tikes Mini trampoline is no longer cutting it. Before you know it you’re packing up that first indoor trampoline, usually the size of a dinner plate, into something heavier duty and slightly more imposing for the back garden. It’s important, therefore, to pick the best heavy duty trampoline for your family’s needs. Things to take into account include size, shape, materials used, durability and, of course, that all important cost factor.

Size is obviously a major factor for many people hoping to migrate the bulk of their ever increasing kids entertainment collection into the outside in an attempt to free up some lounge room real estate. Trampolines are big and bulky and can’t exactly be folded away for the summer barbecue. If you make the decision to invest in one, therefore, it’s important to find the best heavy duty trampoline to fit the size, and shape, you have available without taking up your entire back garden.

The materials used will also become important depending on what climate you live in. If you want it to last you’ll have to make sure it’s suitable for the heat or cold extremities relevant to your local area. Although the bulk of outdoor trampolines available these days are made from heavy duty, weather-resistant polyethylene, suitable for a multitude of climates.

About the Zupapa 15 14 12 Ft TUV Approved Trampoline with Enclosure:

Available in three sizes, 15 foot, 14 foot and 12 foot, there’s several things included in this kit that don’t normally come included with a heavy duty trampoline purchase and increase it’s value for money. The kit includes: Trampoline Frame, Safety Pad, Ladder, Enclosure Net, Rain Cover, T-Hook and that all important instruction manual.

German engineering and a fairly generous warranty (from 6 months for soft parts to 3 years for frame) will ensure excellent value for money on what we think is a product certainly in the running for best heavy duty trampoline.

But is it safe? Well, it’s engineered in Germany so if their trampolines are anything like their cars then yes…its safe! TUV certified safe in fact. That’s Technischer Uberwachungs-Verein, or Technical Inspection Company to the rest of us. Constructed from high quality, galvanized steel, with 108 rust-resistant springs supporting a heavy duty jump pad, this trampoline promises to offer maximum support and a superior bounce. The amount of springs used in this model is, on average, 12 more than on other standard models and brands…meaning more bounciness per square inch…and that’s what look for in the best heavy duty trampoline!

An extra high net enclosure and 20mm thick PVC padding covering all parts of the frame mean extra safety and reduced risk of injury for your family in this superior model of heavy duty trampoline.

The Good Bits:
  • Extra high net enclosure: Standing at 94 inches, which is above the average height for other models, the increased height provides extra safety.
  • Handy shoe holder: Small thing but saves the irritation of lost shoes. Also encourages and reminds littlies to take shoes off before use…increasing life expectancy of jumping mat.
  • Easy assembly, with no drilling required. Well, OK, relatively easy assembly, depending on how good you are at DIY.
  • Kit includes extras such as ladder and rain cover. These usually need to be purchased at an additional cost.
  • Lengthy warranty to replace any damaged parts free of charge and, according to reviews, good customer service to back this up.
  • 12 Extra springs for extra bounce!

The Bad Bits:
  • The enclosure net is placed outside springs as opposed to inside which many would consider safer. However, it still passes safety standards and seems to widely considered a very safe, high quality product.
  • A few whispers and grumbles among reviewers that the safety enclosure is a bit fiddly to put together.

What the Reviews Say:

Generally fantastic reviews on this one. Buyers seem to mention time and time again the high level of customer service experienced when purchasing from this company with one lady even saying she had parts damaged in a storm (so no product fault) for free from the company! This is pretty amazing. Very much the majority of reviews state that this is an extremely high quality, sturdy product and they’re very happy with it. A few reviews do state that the enclosure netting does let the product down a bit and could be a little bit more robust. However, enclosure netting material seems to be a recurring problem with many brands and makes of trampoline. However, the customer service seems to be of such good quality that all problems are rectified very quickly.

What We Say:

Strong, sturdy, durable and very, very bouncy…this is an awesome trampoline to suit many ages and stages of life and therefore a great investment for the whole family! Manufacturers have taken into account both comfort and safety and we like that they have included extras such as a ladder and a rain cover, therefore keeping the cost down. We’ll give this one 4.8 stars (ooh! Our highest rating yet!) only because, once again, the enclosure netting seems to have a shorter life expectancy than the rest of the product. Definite thumbs up for this one!

Super Jumper Combo Trampoline

Rated: 4 Stars
Age Range: 6 Years and Up.

Item Weight: 50 pounds

Product Dimensions: 168 x 168 x 35 Inches
Is Assembly Required: Yes, 2 people and about 2 hours
Maximum weight: 286 pounds

About the Super Jumper Combo Trampoline:

Another great product with a great warranty. It’s nice to see manufacturers backing up their product. The warranty for this product covers 5 years for the steel framing, 3 years for the mat, 1 year for the springs and 6 months for the pad cover. Obviously warranty is only valid if purchased from an authorized dealer…which Amazon is, so Yeay!

Anyway, back to the best heavy duty trampoline in question…this 14 foot trampoline kit includes trampoline, and netting and a little tool thingy for putting it together (no drilling required…Yeay!). No ladder or rain cover for this one…sorry guys! However, it’s a great price for the product you’re getting. Constructed from galvanized steel, rust resistant springs and a UV coated jump mat to provide maximum weather (and kid) proofing therefore increasing the product’s lifespan and your family’s enjoyment.

The Good Bits:
  • Constructed from weather and rust resistant materials.
  • Good size for multiple kids playtime at once.
  • Pretty easy assembly with no drilling required.

The Bad Bits:
  • Squeaky springs! Noooooooo! Just a little bit, but definitely a bit of a squeak!
  • Mixed reviews on the sturdiness of the support poles.

What the Reviews Say:

OK so it’s majority good reviews on this one, stating the usual…that the kids love it and it seems well made and so on. However, there does seem to be several one star reviews, consistently citing a problem with the support poles breaking clean in half at the weld and the entire structure collapsing after only a few months of use. Perhaps this was a manufacturing defect in one batch as it does seem to have been mentioned several times and it is in direct contrast to the better reviews. However, it would indicate a bit of a safety issue if it has happened more than once.

What We Say:

Possibly not the most robust “heavy duty” trampoline on the market. There does seem to be a few issues with the support poles, aside from the standard issues with netting ripping easily which seems to be a problem across the board with most brands. Majority of reviews are good but with several buyers citing similar problems with the support poles it does raise an eyebrow or two. 3 Stars for this one…it does seem to be a great purchase to start with but we’re not sure how it stands up to vigorous use by active kids.

Upper Bounce Easy Assemble “Spacious” Rectangular Trampoline

Available in: Blue, Yellow and Grey

Rated: 3.5 Stars
Age Range: Not specified.

Product Dimensions: 68 x 5 x 23 inches

Item Weight: 311 pounds
Is Assembly Required: Yes

Maximum weight: 500 pounds

About the Upper Bounce Easy Assemble “Spacious” Rectangular Trampoline:

Yeay! A rectangular trampoline. We thought we should include a rectangular trampoline in our best heavy duty trampoline review as they are a better shape for bouncing. Unfortunately, you need the space to be able to accommodate this beast as it won’t sit discreetly in the corner of your garden going unnoticed when not in use. But here’s the good thing! It comes with an easy assemble/disassemble feature, meaning it can be taken down and stored with relative ease for those times when you want your garden back.

Again, as seems fairly standard, this heavy duty trampoline is constructed from a heavy duty galvanized steel frame, black powder coated for extra durability and supported by 4 sturdy “W” shaped legs. It’s Top Flex Pole Enclosure System offers amazing stability and durability and this, together with the heavy duty polypropylene jumping mat and rust-resistant springs offer superior bounce in a safe environment.

The Good Bits:
  • Easy Assemble / Disassemble Feature…we like the sound of that!
  • Strong, high quality PVC safety pad of 1 inch high-density foam thickness for extra protection from falls.
  • Rectangular shape is super bouncy!

The Bad Bits:
  • Not great in winter weather and would perhaps be better in storage.
  • Mesh netting seems flimsy and easy to tear.

What the Reviews Say:

Mixed reviews on this one. A lot of good reviews with customers stating that they are very happy with the product and the quality of the materials. In general, mesh netting is considered a bit flimsy but this seems to be a recurring issue with all enclosure nets. A few mishaps with missing parts on delivery but consistent reports of great customer service from Upper Bounce to rectify any issues. Mainly considered easy to assemble by the majority of buyers and safe and sturdy. Nearly all reports state that, as far as trampolines go, this one is definitely one of the bounciest, which we think is a great thing in a trampoline!

A handful of not so good reviews at the other end of the scale, mainly regarding problems with missing parts on delivery and in general, not happy with the quality of the product. However, majority good reviews.

What We Say:

Well it is very bouncy, which we like in a trampoline, and it feels sturdy, strong and safe when in use. The rectangular shape is a favorite for us as it allows more room for fancy tumbles and fun somersaults (if you’re able for that kind of thing!) and, if there is any issues, customer service is top notch.

This is another great product from the well know Skywalker range. A simple design at a good price to encouraging physical activity amongst your family members.

What the Reviews Say:

Great reviews on this one, for the most part describing it as a sturdy, safe and reliable structure. Several reviewers have stated that they’ve had it for a couple of years and it’s still in good shape and rust free.

As always, there are a few negative reviews stating that the product was of poor quality and didn’t last long. However, these do tend to be in the minority. Any other negative reviews are based on parts missing when item was delivered, or difficulty with assembly.

What We Say:

A good basic trampoline at a good price, no gimmicks. We found it felt safe and offered good support and excellent bounce, therefore keeping our kids entertained for hours.

Conclusion:

So this brings us to the end of our small reviews on what we think is the best heavy duty trampoline available on the market at the moment. Five good models of varying brands and prices. To be honest we’d put our top pick at Product 1: Zupapa 15 14 12 Ft TUV Approved Trampoline with Enclosure. It’s an excellent high-quality product for a great price and includes all the little extra that you won’t need to spend additional money on later. On top of this their customer service seems to be excellent! Great stuff Zupapa!
